As an alumnus, I’m truly honored and privileged to serve as the Principal of United Builders School, Tamenglong. I thank the Lord Almighty and the Governing Board for giving the opportunity.

Having grown up in a small town and been exposed to a wider metropolitan city, I have had my share of discovering the traits of other cultures and lifestyles. I am satisfied with what I have found so far, and now the time has come to contribute back to my society. My passion to work for an institution comes from two sources- intellectual curiosity and the desire to educate and train human resources for the development of society. I have preserved research and teaching for nearly fifteen years and my passion has not diminished at all. I also intend to promote innovations in the teaching-learning process and multi-disciplinary programmes in higher education. I am determined to make the most quality education that I have received from my research and teaching by following an indefatigable quest for knowledge. I’ll be sharing my thoughts and innovative ideas with what I discovered in the academic world.

I have learned what one has to learn from other cultures and academia. I feel that being educated is not only about acquiring degrees and success. To me, being educated is all about understanding other lifestyles, developing a good personality and being able to give co-operation without making a conscious effort to blend in. “Imagination is more important than knowledge” because knowledge is about what we already know, whereas imagination is what moves individuals, cultures and identity forward.

As we are living in the age of globalization, it is our duty to equip the children with skills to cope in an interconnected world which is heavily dependent on social media and technology. We must teach them to equipped and handles the problems that arise from ICT. The schools shut down during the global pandemic have enforced us through digital online learning and there is a need to prepare for such eventuality for the future.

It is essential to bring a vibrant knowledge society by making the school education more holistic, flexible, and multidisciplinary, which aim is to bring out the unique capabilities of each student. I look forward to bringing a change in an equitable and inclusive education including the promotion of gender equality.

Upholding the school’s motto “Aim at the Highest”, I shall continue to provide the students an environment that cultivates to become successful, social commitment, develop critical thinking and raise questions which can contribute to a new understanding. It is my endeavor to carry forward the legacy of our school.
